Trusted Matrimony Profiles
Within Your Samaj

Mera Samaj brings the traditional practice of samaj-based matchmaking into the digital age — without compromising on privacy, trust, or family values. Members create verified biodata profiles visible only to others within the same community. No spam. No strangers. Just your samaj. अपने समाज में, अपने लोगों के साथ — रिश्ते की तलाश।

The Problem We Solve

Why Families Prefer Samaj Matrimony

For generations, Indian families have preferred to find life partners within their own community — sharing the same customs, traditions, language, and social values. Large public matrimony platforms like Shaadi.com or Jeevansathi contain millions of profiles from across the country, making it difficult to find verified matches from one's own caste, sub-caste, or regional community.

The alternative — relying on word-of-mouth through samaj leaders or community gatherings — is slow, limited in reach, and increasingly difficult as communities spread across cities and abroad. Mera Samaj solves this by creating a private, digital matrimony directory within your community. Only your samaj's verified members can see and contact each other — combining the trust of traditional networks with the reach and convenience of modern technology.

The result: families find more relevant matches, leaders spend less time manually connecting families, and the community remains tightly knit across geographies.

How It Works

Creating a Matrimony Profile in 3 Steps

01

Navigate to the Matrimony Section

Open the Mera Samaj app and tap the Matrimony icon on the home screen. Browse existing profiles from your community — you'll immediately see the names, cities, and professions of potential matches. Use filters for age, education, profession, and city to narrow down.

02

Create Your Biodata Profile

Tap "Create Profile" and fill in personal details, family background, partner preferences, horoscope information, and upload photos. The guided form walks you through every section. Parents and candidates can fill it together on one phone.

03

Express Interest and Connect

When you find a suitable profile, tap "Express Interest". The other family is notified. If they also express interest back, both families receive a secure in-app messaging thread to begin the conversation — no phone numbers shared until both sides are ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

Matrimony Feature — Mera Samaj

Are matrimony profiles visible to people outside my samaj?

No. Matrimony profiles on Mera Samaj are completely private and visible only to verified members within your specific community. No profile appears in any public search engine, external matrimony site, or to members of other communities. This community-restricted privacy is our foundational design principle.

How does Mera Samaj verify that matrimony seekers belong to the right community?

Every member must be approved by a community administrator before gaining access to the app and its matrimony section. Administrators manually verify identity through community records, family references, or document upload — ensuring only genuine members can view and create profiles.

Can parents create and manage profiles on behalf of their children?

Yes. Parents or guardians can create and manage matrimony profiles on behalf of their sons or daughters. The profile clearly indicates whether it is self-managed or managed by a parent/guardian. Interest requests are directed to the profile manager, not necessarily the candidate.

What happens when two families show interest in each other?

When one family expresses interest in a profile, the other family receives a notification. If the interest is mutual — both families accept — the app provides a secure in-app messaging channel for further communication. Contact details (phone numbers, email) are never shared automatically.
