Go to the Marketplace
Tap the Marketplace icon in the Mera Samaj app. You'll see all active listings from your community members — sorted by newest first. Use category filters to find exactly what you need, or tap "Sell" to create a new listing.
Create Your Listing
Enter the item title, choose a category, set your price, describe the item's condition, and upload up to 8 photos from your phone's gallery. Add your location and preferred contact method. The whole process takes under 2 minutes.
Manage Enquiries and Close the Deal
Interested buyers send you an in-app message. Discuss, negotiate, and agree on pickup/delivery. Once sold, mark the listing as sold — it archives automatically and both parties can rate the experience.

Is the marketplace open to anyone, or only community members?
The Mera Samaj marketplace is exclusively accessible to verified members of your community. No listing is visible to the general public or to members of other samaj communities. This trusted-only model significantly reduces the risk of fraud and ensures both buyers and sellers are known community members.
What categories of products and services can be listed?
The marketplace supports multiple categories including electronics, clothing, furniture, vehicles, books, property rentals, and service listings (tutoring, repair work, catering, etc.). Admins configure which categories are active for their community.
How are payments handled in the community marketplace?
Mera Samaj does not currently process marketplace payments centrally — buyers and sellers agree on payment method (UPI, cash, bank transfer) directly. This keeps the process flexible and avoids transaction fees. Future updates will include integrated escrow payments for added security.
What happens if there is a dispute between a buyer and seller?
Community administrators can mediate disputes flagged by members. All in-app communication is logged, making it easy to review what was agreed. Admins can suspend or remove members who violate marketplace rules, maintaining community trust.
