Our Mission
Mera Samaj exists to digitize India's community fabric — the lakhs of samaj organizations, religious trusts, trade associations, cultural societies, and welfare NGOs that form the invisible backbone of Indian civic life.
These organizations manage thousands of families, collect millions of rupees in dues and donations, arrange hundreds of marriages, and organize thousands of events — often using tools that haven't changed in 30 years: hand-written registers, photocopied directories, and increasingly chaotic WhatsApp groups.
We built Mera Samaj to change this — with a platform that is powerful enough to manage 10,000 members and simple enough for a samaj secretary who is using a smartphone for the first time.
The Story Behind Mera Samaj
The idea for Mera Samaj began at a samaj meeting in Hyderabad in 2021. Our co-founder Arjun was attending his family's annual Samaj Mahotsav — watching the samaj secretary struggle with a spiral notebook of member addresses that was three years out of date, manually calling 400 families to confirm attendance, and dealing with cash donations counted on a folding table.
The meeting room was full of engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs, and tech professionals. Yet the samaj that had nurtured all of them operated as if it were still 1995. Arjun called Priya that evening — they'd worked together at a fintech startup — and asked a simple question: "Why isn't there a proper app for this?"
They spent the next six months talking to samaj secretaries, temple trustees, NGO coordinators, business association presidents, and cultural society managers across India — in Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. The problems were universal. The desire for a better solution was universal. And the gap in the market was unmistakable.
Mera Samaj launched publicly in March 2022 with 12 beta communities. Within 6 months, over 200 communities had signed up through word of mouth alone. Today, with 1,200+ communities across 12 states, we remain committed to the same principle we started with: every samaj deserves to be digital.

Every feature we build, every pricing decision we make, and every support interaction we have starts with one question: is this good for the community? Not for investors, not for advertisers — for your samaj. That's why we don't sell ads, don't sell data, and don't build features that benefit us at your expense.
Privacy Matters
Your community's data — member profiles, matrimony listings, financial records, private messages — is yours. We are custodians of your data, not owners. We never share, sell, or use community data for advertising. Mera Samaj uses enterprise-grade encryption, regular security audits, and strict access controls. Your members' trust in you depends on their trust in us.
Simplicity Always
Our users include retired school teachers managing community events, 70-year-old samaj treasurers collecting dues, and young volunteers coordinating relief campaigns. If it's not simple enough for all of them to use without training, we redesign it. Simplicity is not a feature — it's the foundation of everything we build.

Arjun grew up in a joint family active in their local Brahmin Samaj in Lucknow. After 8 years building enterprise software at Infosys and Wipro, he returned to his community roots with a clear mission: every samaj deserves the same digital tools that large corporations take for granted.

Priya Nair

Priya built mobile payment infrastructure at PhonePe before co-founding Mera Samaj. Her deep expertise in UPI integration, data privacy, and mobile-first design ensures that Mera Samaj works flawlessly for 65-year-old samaj secretaries and 25-year-old members alike. Originally from Thrissur, she is deeply familiar with Kerala's rich community association culture.
